INFO > Singer-songwriter Tori Amos (born Myra Ellen Amos) unexpectedly packed dancefloors in 1996, thanks to Armand Van Helden’s drastic revision of “Professional Widow” (subtitled ‘It’s Got To Be Big’ in Europe), in which Van Helden sliced and diced the song’s lyrics into something very different. The US single edition also includes mixes by Marc Kinchen, while the UK/EU release features Mr. Roy’s rework of Van Helden’s groove.

INFO > Among the diverse pool of talent on Tom Jones’ 1994 album “The Lead And How To Swing It” is Tori Amos, who sings backing vocals on ballad “I Wanna Get Back With You.” That single also features Jones’ cover of “Situation”, for which Martin ‘Youth’ Glover revisited his 1990 ‘Aggressive Attitude Mix’ of the Yazoo classic, and cheekily tossed in the keyboard riff from “Don’t Go.” Glover’s ‘Extended Mix’ is digitally exclusive to the US promo.

INFO > After being introduced by mutual friends, Brian Transeau and Tori Amos discovered they had much in common personally, and subsequently collaborated professionally in the mid-1990s. “Blue Skies” came about after Amos sent Transeau a DAT of her singing improvised lyrics over “Divinity” from BT’s debut album. Transeau created a new instrumental foundation and edited Amos’ extemporaneous vocals into a structured song. While the radio edit is a catchy and uplifting tune in its own right, the single’s remix pack is massive: BT, Paul van Dyk, Deep Dish, and RITM all captured in their prime.
