Rolling Stones – You Got Me Rocking

“This has got to be the largest collection of old English musicians ever assembled in Madison Square Garden,” joked Mick Jagger during last night’s 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief. It was a bit surprising to hear The Rolling Stones break out this obscure single for their brief set. Thanks to Tom for sharing this one.

INFO > I remember reading somewhere that Paul Oakenfold turned down an offer to remix Paul McCartney—based on this release, I guess Oakey favors The Stones over The Beatles. The Perfecto mogul was certainly more discriminating with his job choices back in the 1990s, and consequently delivered his best productions in the company of erstwhile studio partner Steve Osborne. Although not one of The Stones’ better-known tunes, “You Got Me Rocking” was made more memorable by the Perfecto touch.
