INFO > After being booted from Bow Wow Wow, former frontwoman Annabella Lwin recorded a solo album, “Fever”, in 1986. She then disappeared from the music scene for a while, and reappeared in 1994 with a new single, “Car Sex.” The track was remixed by West End, Roger Sanchez, and Howie B.
HELP > Anyone have Laundrette 81 “Te Quiero [Love Me]” featuring Lwin on vocals?

INFO > With only two lines of repeated lyrics over a funky instrumental, “Voices Inside My Head” appears on The Police’s third album, 1980’s “Zenyatta Mondatta.” Fifteen years later, the track’s vocal acapella, guitar riff, and percussion became DJ tools with which to fashion radical reworks; this package features remixes by Ashley Beedle, Roger Sanchez, Eric Miller, and DJ Harvey.

INFO > Following a stint in Electribe 101, a single with Spooky, and other collaborative work, Billie Ray Martin enlisted Dave Ball and Richard Norris to oversee her debut solo release, 1993’s “4 Ambient Tales.” The Grid also produced Billie Ray’s next single—international smash hit “Your Loving Arms.” Amid numerous remixes from Diss-Cuss, Brothers In Rhythm, Roger Sanchez, and Todd Terry, it was Junior Vasquez’s ‘Sound Factory Vocal’ that catapulted the tune up the charts, and filled dancefloors worldwide. Here are the original 1994 UK release and the belated US issue from 1995.

INFO > Formed in 1990, M People includes Mike Pickering (Quando Quango), Paul Heard (Ace Of Clubs), Andrew “Shovell” Lovell (Natural Life), and Heather Small (Hot House). The group enjoyed great success throughout the 1990s with a string of hit singles and best-selling albums, not to mention a couple of BRIT Awards and the 1994 Mercury Prize. The belated US issue of “Moving On Up” benefited from new remixes by Marc Kinchen, which joined mixes produced by Roger Sanchez, and the band’s original versions. This CD maxi features three of those cuts, as well as a previously promo only mix of “Someday” from 1992.

INFO > A couple of days ago, I posted Fire Island’s cover of “There But For The Grace Of God”; while it’s a great revision of the Machine classic, Farley and Heller opted not to feature the original tune’s catchy keyboard section. Roger Sanchez recycled that riff to great effect on his Narcotic mixes of this one-off single by Love Tribe. Additional remixes by Alcatraz and Sharp join Dewey Bullock’s original versions on the two CD singles issued by AM:PM (unique tracks from both discs are consolidated here).
