INFO > Remixed by Peter Walsh and Stephen Bogle, “Imagination” was Exotic Birds’ swan song; the band would continue to perform live for a couple more years before calling it quits in 1993. Afterward, founder and only remaining original member Andy Kubiszewski found greater success during his tenure with Stabbing Westward from 1995 to 2002. Kubiszewski now composes music for American television programs.

INFO > Andy Kubiszewski, Tom Freer, and Tim Adams formed synthpop group Exotic Birds in 1983. Obscure in the annals of music history, Exotic Birds merit notice for two of its onetime band members: Trent Reznor and Chris Vrenna. After multiple personnel changes throughout the 1980s, the Birds signed with Philadelphia-based Alpha International in 1990 and released two singles and a revised version of their 1989 album, “Equilibrium.” Their saccharine cover of Badfinger’s 1971 hit “Day After Day” was remixed by Zeus B. Held and Houston producer Stephen Bogle (guitarist for The Hunger, also part of Alpha’s roster at the time).
