After turning out smashing remixes of Erasure’s “A Little Respect” earlier this month, producer Brian McCombs has reworked another classic: New Order’s “Blue Monday” (FAC 73), which was originally released 30 years ago this month. Brian pumps up the beats in his trademark electro-house style while keeping the tune intact:
I’m a big Bedrock fan; however I find John Digweed and Nick Muir’s spacey FAC73-13 remix to be disappointingly dull. On the other hand, Brian’s more traditional take on “Blue Monday” is a fitting tribute with which to celebrate the track’s 30-year milestone.
