INFO > In 1979, Miles Copeland III founded the International Record Syndicate label as a counterpart to his UK-based Illegal Records. The indie imprint maintained a diverse roster of artists, ranging from pop darlings Go-Gos to knob-twiddler William Orbit. I.R.S. balanced commercial success with underground credibility until folding in 1996; however, the label was recently resurrected by EMI.
