INFO > After parting ways with Phil Oakey in the first incarnation of The Human League, Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh rebranded themselves as the British Electric Foundation (B.E.F.). Soon after, they recruited vocalist Glenn Gregory to form Heaven 17. “Temptation” is the trio’s biggest hit, having peaked at 2 on the UK Singles Chart in 1983. A decade later, the tune was back in the top 10 thanks to a posh house update by Steve Anderson and Dave Seaman.

  1. Great band, great remix! Any chance of the other remix singles from that period?

  2. Epic treatment of a new wave classic! I wasn’t too crazy about the Rapino and Tommy D mixes too, even though I bought all the 12″ then.
The Luxury Gap ranks up there for me as a top notch New Wave album.

    • Definitely my favorite H17 album – I remember finding it at the local public library and thinking I had discovered gold! Good to see them making somewhat of a comeback recently, too.
